Maynard Elementary invited VFW Post 4456 for coming out and doing a Flag Retirement and Raising Ceremony with students in grades 4-6. Students were taught how to properly retire a flag, the meaning behind the folds of the flag retirement, and how to raise a new flag. The program was coordinated by Elementary Principal David Byers and Teacher Melinda Harris. Maynard Employee Dennis Barber assisted during the ceremony.
