Maynard Jr. High Chess Team recently participated in the annual Northeast Arkansas Chess tournament, sponsored by the Coop and Gifted. The event, organized by the Northeast Arkansas Educational Cooperative in collaboration with the region’s Gifted Director, showcased various school competitions including Chess, Quiz Bowl and Business Expo. During the tournament, held on Monday, Andrew Stapleton clinched 3rd place overall with an impressive performance of 4 wins and 1 stalemate. Accompanied by three other skilled team members, each securing a minimum of 2 victories, Maynard Jr. High Chess Team had a successful day, bringing home a well-deserved trophy.
