Maxine Crain

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved mother Maxine Loraine Crain.
Our precious mother had the honor to walk the stairway to heaven hand in hand with Jesus on September 23, 2023, at the age of 77.
She was born on March 28, 1946, in Valeria, Iowa to Gilford and Audrey McKeever. She spent her childhood in Carlisle graduating from Carlisle High School in 1964. Soon after graduating her brother set her up on a blind date with a guy, he knew named Malcomb. This one date turned into a lifetime, and they married on November 25, 1967. This union brought her three children who were the loves of her life. She loved her children deeply and loved being a mother. Later in life, her heart grew with love when she was blessed to have six grandchildren and then even more when she was blessed with one great-grandson.
Our mother was one who would sit down and talk with anyone, anytime, anywhere. She sure did love to talk. She loved playing cards, her KFC Chicken and Pepsi. Watching her favorite programs, The Masked Singer and Dancing with the Stars. She always rooted for “her” team the New England Patriots whenever they were playing, and no team was better than they were no matter the score. Just ask her. But nothing meant more to her than her family and her faith. She would tell anybody anywhere what Jesus meant to her and how much she loved her family. She loved being a grandma as evident by her grandchildren always playing with her hair. She never cared what it looked like when they were done, she just loved having them around her.
Those left to continue to love her are Malcomb, her daughters Paula (Ron) Lewis and Susan (Mike) Crouch. Her son David Crain preceded her in death in 2008.
Her grandchildren Joseph (Tiffany) Mears, Victoria (William) Mears, Amber Voyles, Austin Crain, Bryanna (Adrian) Lewis, Zakry Crain, and her great-grandson Xavior Rodgers.
Her brothers and sisters are Charlie McKeever, Jim McKeever, Jerry McKeever, Larry McKeever, Joanne Anderson, and Diane Maughan. Her brother Lee McKeever and sister Linda Bird as well as her parents preceded her in death.
Her special adoptive grandchildren Leslie Stacy and Cassie Sheets and family.
While our hearts are heavy, and our tears are many, we rejoice in knowing she is where she always longed to be, and she is healed and whole. We will continue this journey here for now and try to continue her legacy of love with our own families and those we come in contact with. A graveside service was held on Friday, September 29, 2023, at Masonic Cemetery in Pocahontas, Arkansas.
Serving as pallbearers were Ronald Lewis, Paula Lewis, Joseph Mears, Adrian Hurst, Leslie Stacy, Lee Wooldridge, Jeremy Lewis, and Jim Palmer.
