Mary Davis

Mary Therese (Baltz) Davis, 87, of Clarksville, Tennessee, was born to eternal life on August 30, 2022.

Born Nov 20,1934 in Pocahontas, Arkansas, where she began her nursing career making rural house calls with her physician father. She later married and moved to Clarksville, Tennessee, in 1960 to serve with her husband as co-owners of Dickson Sadler Drug Co., and raised five beloved children and many grandchildren. A creative soul, she loved music, stained glass, painting, reading, poetry, gardening, puzzles, and birdwatching. She was quick to laugh, highly literate and open-minded, and impressed her grandchildren with her witty social media comments. She never had an unkind word to say, and approached both life and death with grace and authenticity. She will be remembered as the epitome of unconditional love, and a powerful example of how to treat others. She had a gift for doing the little things in life with kindness, making everyone feel special.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Horace E. Davis, and her parents, Dr. Matthias Anthony Baltz and Mary Louise DeClerk Baltz. She is survived by sons Michael (DeAnna) Davis of Nashville, and Dr. James (Martha) Davis and Gary (Lisa) Davis of Clarksville; daughters Anne (Peter) Martin of Clarksville and Katie (Mike) Harris of Mt. Juliet; siblings Guy (Joan) Baltz, Rita (Henry, dec.) Dust, Madeline (Carl) Throesch, Millie (Bill) Kueter, Dr. Albert (Rose) Baltz, Genie (Lloyd, dec.) Harper, and Janet (Dennis, dec.) Holt of Arkansas; eighteen grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.

Visitation to be held 4:00 P.M. until Rosary at 7:00 P.M. Friday, September 2nd, at Neal- Tarpley Parchman Funeral Home. Funeral Mass 10:00 A.M. Saturday, September 3rd, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Clarksville Tenn.
