Lura Jane Reed, 83, of Pocahontas fell asleep in death Tuesday, October 24, 2023 at Randolph Home.

She was born October 9, 1940, in Bono to the late Grady R. and Velma Byrum Burk. She worked for Golf Bag in Walnut Ridge and was a one of Jehovah’s Witnesses. She was baptized on February 7, 1959, as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses and dedicated her life to sharing with others the promise of living on a paradise earth found in the Bible. She was loved by many people and loved her friends as if they were family She was preceded in death by her parents Grady and Velma Burk; her husband, William L. Reed; and her son, William James Reed.

She is survived by a daughter, Rebecca J. Summers of Pocahontas; a granddaughter, Nicole Reed of Maynard; daughter -in-law, Alicia Reed from Pocahontas; and by other relatives and friends. No services will be held at this time. Cremation has been chosen at the method of final disposition.
