Pocahontas native wins 2nd in Bass Fishing Tournament
Pocahontas native Kevin Riney took 2nd place in the Toyota Plains Division Fishing League Worldwide (FLW) Bass Tournament on Lake Dardanelle in Russellville, AR on Sept. 19. He fished in the Pro division looking for a grand prize of $35,000 in the three-day event. He finished 19th on the first day and took 2nd place on the second day. With only the top ten boats moving up to fish on day three, Kevin fished hard all morning finding a good number of fish and held on to the 2nd place position and brought home a nice prize.
Kevin is the son of Rose and Denny Riney of Pocahontas and is a 1999 Pocahontas High School graduate. He started fishing tournaments with his dad at age 16.
He lives and works in Jonesboro and is the father of twin 15-yearold sons, Austin and Dylan.
“As for Kevin I’d like to say he learned everything from his dad,” Denny Riney said laughing. “I will say this to him, “keep on fishing and good luck.’ He is already preparing for his next FLW event. Mom and dad couldn’t be more proud.”
