Liebhaber guest speaker at Rotary

POCAHONTAS—Karen Liebhaber, BRTC’s vice president for institutional advancement and Pocahontas Rotary Club member, was guest speaker at the Jan. 16 weekly Rotary meeting at Beverly’s Catering where she spoke about the importance of Rotary’s image on the local level and ensuring their true values are projected.

Liebhaber asked those in attendance about their personal perceptions of Rotary—both of Rotary International, and, more importantly, of the Pocahontas Rotary Club. Pocahontas Rotary Club President Erin Mathews commented on what she has learned since becoming president and how it’s changed her personal perception.

“Until you become president, you don’t really realize how good of an organization this is,” said Mathews. “Because you learn a lot about everyone and about what Rotary is really all about... In Pocahontas, you see actual benefits to what you’re doing to where worldwide (Rotary International), you have no clue.”
