Jerry Swann

Jerry Swann passed away at his home in Hardy on April 5, 2022 at the age of 64. He was born Gerald Joseph Swann on April 9th, 1957 in Pocahontas, Arkansas.

Jerry is survived by his adoring wife, Amy, doting daughters Leah (Bill) McIlroy of Pocahontas and Alison (Luke) Hudson of Calico Rock, his #1 son Jason (Teressa) Swann of Jonesboro and his loving, amazing mother, Mary Ann Swann of Pocahontas. He is also survived by 8 beautiful grandchildren who were the apple of his eye. His tight knit siblings include Mary Waddell, Susie McManners, Buster Swann, Patricia Williams, Mary Louise Voss, and step brother Danny Swann, all of Pocahontas.

He was also blessed with numerous nieces and nephews throughout the country. He was preceded in death by his Dad, Ray (Hootie) Swann, brother Tim Toliver, nephew Tracy Burgess, father-in-law Bud Schneider, mother-in-law Sue Knicker and her husband, Don, and brother-in-law Mike Schneider. Jerry was a welder for many years and enjoyed working for Farm Service in Pocahontas. His accomplishments and success at Mill Creek Gardens brought so much joy and pride to him, Amy, and so many people in the community. Jerry could truly do and fix anything, and was known as MacGyver by those close to him. He loved to fish, and after spending his youth fishing the Eleven Point River, Jerry found a passion for saltwater fishing in his retirement.

He has found great joy in surf fishing in Florida every chance he got, really though, anywhere at anytime. He loved to tinker in his shop and was a diehard Chevy man. He was blessed with so many friends and was truly a man of dignity and integrity.

A Celebration of Life was held at Mill Creek Gardens, 3150 Hwy 62 West in Pocahontas, Arkansas on Sunday, April 10th at 3 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please take your kids and grandkids fishing.
