Janet Lee Overstreet, formerly of Pocahontas, AR, passed away at the age of 76, January 13, 2024. She is survived by son, Jeff; daughterin- law, Jenni; grandsons, Garrett and Jake, all of Maumelle; only sister, Jeannie French of Hot Springs Village; her special cousin, Patsy Cooper of Jonesboro; many other cousins, nieces, nephews and beloved friends. She was proceeded in death by her dear parents, Dowell and Geneva Ramer, and her loving husband, Gary.

Janet was a Walnut Ridge High School graduate and received her bachelor’s degree in education from Arkansas State University in Jonesboro, AR.

Janet was a beloved teacher for over 25 years in school districts which included Tuckerman, Lonoke and Pocahontas. She touched many lives and made hundreds of connections that will not be soon forgotten.

After retirement, she enjoyed relaxing in the home, “winning” games against grandsons, going out to eat with friends and family, and especially her highly anticipated beach and lake trips with her dear sister, Jeannie and very special cousin, Patsy.

As of recently, Janet moved to Maumelle to be nearer to her caring family.

All services were held at Hope Gardens Funeral Home. Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 20, 2024, from 11:00 am – 12:00 pm with the funeral service to immediately follow with Gerald Fears officiating. Burial services will follow at Lawrence Memorial Park in Walnut Ridge.

Pallbearers are Marcus Hoelscher, Lance Olvey, Brent Holt, Jason French, Michael Videll, and Greg Wrenfrow.
