Gerald Brunner

Gerald “Doc” Michael Brunner, 81, of Engelberg AR, passed from this life to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, July 29, 2022, at the Flo & Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro. He was born on September 13, 1940, in Engelberg to the late Wilfred and Katherine (Peters) Brunner and was a life-long member of St. John’s Catholic church.

Gerald was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in Germany during the Vietnam Conflict. After returning home, he spent his days helping his parents care for their small farm along with working for many years as a plumber’s helper and at the Pocahontas Sale Barn. Geraldenjoyed gardening and his country home life, especially his front porch swing, along with the occasional telling of a story or two. He was loved by his family and will be greatly missed.

Preceding him in death were his parents Wilfred and Katherine; brother and sister-in-law, Eugene “Gene” and Coletta Brunner and nephew Aaron Dust.

He is survived by his brother Kenneth and sister- in-law, Debbie Brunner of Paragould, AR; sister, Mary Sue Byrd of Hot Springs, AR; nieces and nephews, Glynis (Rob) Luter, Sharon (Rich) McClendon, Kevin (Katie) Dust, Bruce(Gina) Brunner, Kristen Brunner, Shawn (Shianna) Brunner; several great & great-great nieces and nephews along with his aunt Marie Peters.

Visitation will be Tuesday, August 2, 2022 from 5-7 PM in the chapel of McNabb Funeral Home with a Rosary being said 7 PM. Funeral Mass will be Wednesday, August 3, 2022 at 11 A.M. at St. John Catholic Church in Engelberg with Father Stephen Elser officiating. Burial will follow at St. John Cemetery.

Honored to serve as pallbearers are Bruce Brunner, Shawn Brunner, Kevin Dust, Rob Luter, Rich McClendon, and Drake McKinney.
