Everett Kellett

Everett Edward Kellett, born March 8, 1932, passed peacefully from this life surrounded by his loving sons on the evening of April 9, 2024. Everett was born in the hills of Ravenden Springs, Arkansas to Jasper and Nettie (Bailey) Kellett.
Everett graduated from Delaplaine High School where he excelled in basketball, baseball, and living life to the fullest. He was a veteran of the Korean War where he served as a Military Policeman. He sought employment in Rockford, Illinois where he made his home for over 50 years retiring from Powertrain/Borg Warner in 1998. He and his wife Charlise Faye were blessed with two sons James Everett and Ronald Edward whom he adored, mentored, and kept laughing even in his final days on this earth. He returned full-time to the land he loved in Ravenden Springs in 2014 where he enjoyed God’s creation and God’s people. He was a longtime member of the North Park Church of Christ in Rockford, Illinois, as well as the country church Bethany Church of Christ in Ravenden Springs, Arkansas. The legacy he leaves is admired by both his cherished family and his precious friends. His stories and shenanigans fill all who knew him with wonderful memories to last a lifetime.
Everett is preceded in death by his parents, Jasper and Nettie Kellett, his sisters, Ola Gates, Wilda Shimmings, Glendora Kellett, and Lois Stone and his brothers, Willard, Ray, and Myrl.
He is survived by his sons Jim (Darla) Kellett and Ron (Jacquie) Kellett; his grandchildren, Chelsey (Errick) Bradley, Abby (Andy) Townsend, Jake (Brittany) Kellett, Keenan (Lauren) Kellett and grandchildren MJ and Brock Ditto; Andie and Tucker Bradley, his very special friend Connie Davenport and many nieces and nephews.
Everett’s Celebration of Life was on Monday, April 15, 2024 at Hope Gardens Funeral Home in Pocahontas, Arkansas. Everett was laid to rest at Yadkin Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jake Kellett, Keenan Kellett, Andrew Townsend, Errick Bradley, Caleb Kellett and Josh White. Honorary pallbearers are Chelsey Bradley, Abby Townsend, and Lauren Kellett.
