Derik Eugene Fitzgerald, 50, of Pocahontas passed away Monday, July 24, 2023 at Fulton County Hospital in Salem.

He was born March 23, 1973 in Piggott to the late Rex and Donna Hufstedler Fitzgerald. He worked as a landscaper and was the greenskeeper for Rolling Hills Country Club.

Derik was preceded in death by his parents Rex and Donna Hufstedler Fitzgerald.

Derik is survived by his wife Angela “Angie” Hannaford Fitzgerald; daughters, Daphaene (Jacob) Defries of Pocahontas and Sierra Fitzgerald of Pocahontas; granddaughter, Kinsley Defries of Pocahontas; brothers, Vance Fitzgerald of Pocahontas, Jeff Fitzgerald of Florida, and Patrick Fitzgerald of Trumann; and many other relatives and friends.

Derik loved his family and friends. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and golfing. He loved helping people when he had spare time on his hands. He always felt better knowing that he could help others. He never met a stranger.

All services will be held in the chapel of McNabb Funeral Home. Visitation will be Monday, July 31, 2023 from 5-7 PM. Funeral service will be Tuesday, August 1, 2023 at 10 AM with Jeremy Dial officiating. Burial will follow in Old Union Cemetery.
