David Whitlock

David Lenn Whitlock, 55, of Pocahontas passed away Friday, October 6, 2023 at St. Bernard’s Medical Center in Jonesboro.
He was born July 12, 1968 in Rockford, IL to Leonard and Marlene Mein Whitlock. He attended Southern Arkansas University Tech then became an industrial machine mechanic. He worked for Lawrence United Shirt Company for 8 years and ITW Paslode for 17 years. David was a supporter of the United Way, a volunteer for Boy Scouts of America, and of the Christian faith.
David enjoyed the outdoors, spending time with family and friends, NASCAR, rock concerts, Ozzy Osbourne, and being a vendor at Dave’s 5 and 10 General Store in Doniphan. He enjoyed watching Big Jim’s Online Auction and being a member of the P.B. Swap Monkey.
David was preceded in death by a brother, Mark L. Whitlock; grandparents, Albert and Mable Mein, Rusty Whitlock, and Carmen Hendrix; and by his stepmother, Eloise Whitlock.
He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Kathleen Cooper Whitlock; children, Lesleigh Whitlock of Walnut Ridge, Matthew David Whitlock of Pocahontas, Jonathyn Whitlock of Pocahontas, and Baylee Whitlock of Pocahontas; by three siblings; and many other relatives and friends.
A memorial visitation will be held Sunday, October 22, 2023 from 2-3 PM in the chapel of McNabb Funeral Home with a memorial service beginning at 3 PM with Jerry Cochran and Nelson Henderson officiating. A dinner will follow at First United Pentecostal Church. Following David’s wishes he was a donor through Mid-America Transplant. Cremation was chosen as the method of final disposition.
Honorary Pallbearers are Matthew Whitlock, Tommy Stockwell, Josh Stockwell, William Heer, Spencer Ponder, Chad Wyatt, Mike Videgain, and Jimmy Willard.
