Charles Hackworth

Charles Larry Sanford Hackworth, 76, passed away peacefully at his home in Ravenden Springs, Arkansas, Wednesday, June 1, 2022. He was born April 5, 1946, near Dalton, Arkansas to the late Wesley Owen “Ted” and Lena Mae King Hackworth. Larry was employed for most of his life as a sawmiller. He loved hunting and fishing, playing cards, going to the stock car races, and being with his family and friends.

Larry is survived by his sons, Scott (Jill) Hackworth of Griffin, Georgia, Steve (Claudette) Hackworth of Pocahontas, Arkansas, Danny Hackworth of Rushville, Illinois; daughters, Penny Hackworth of Beardstown, Illinois, Pam (Christopher) Mock of Ohio, and Kelly Tidwell of Myrtle, Missouri; brother, Ted Hackworth of Piggott, Arkansas; sisters, Aline “Peg” (Jim) March of Marshall, Missouri, Mary Lou Dulaney of Hoxie, Arkansas, and Lucy Brown of Pocahontas, Arkansas; fourteen grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins, a grand dog Sadie “Lil Dog”; friend David Brown; and a very close friend Wes Loggains of Ravenden Springs, Arkansas.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Andy Jay Hackworth; brothers, James Allen “Jim” Hackworth, David Joe Hackworth, Richard Hackworth, and Donald “Don” Hackworth; sister, Doris Lee Engle; half-sister, Betty Joyce Blackwell Conner; daughter-in-law, Sheila Smith Hackworth; sisters-in-law, Trina Hackworth, Barb Hackworth, and Connie Jean Hackworth; brother-in-law, Jerry Engle; grandson, Steven Dylan Hackworth; and great niece Laken.

Visitation will be Saturday, June 4, 2022 from 10 AM – 12 PM in the chapel of McNabb Funeral Home with a funeral service beginning at 12 PM with Mackie McReynolds officiating. Burial will follow in Myrtle Cemetery in Myrtle, Missouri. Pallbearers will be John and Tom Dulaney, Eric Mitchell, Joe Simington, Junior Engle, and Kenny Bennett. Honorary Pallbearers will be Stanley Hackworth, Greg Hackworth, and Bobby Engle.
