Keith Sutton Five Rivers Shooting Range is offering a Practical Competition Shooting League Course (PCSL). This course will be offered in two courses a basic fundamentals and a skills & drills course. Adults for each course are $50 or $75 for both. Youth 12+ is $20 per course or $30 for both. Saturday, June 14 will be youth course. Saturday, June 7 will be the adult courses. All Shooting Range Members will get half off these courses.

Maynard Elementary announces Valedictorian and Salutatorian
Maynard Odyssey of the Mind teams recently competed at State. The Middle School team (grades 6-8) won the State Championship in their division/problem and the Elementary Team (grades 3-5) won State Runners-up in their division/problem. Both teams advance to the World finals at Michigan State University.
The City of Pocahontas will be hosting an open doubles pickleball tournament at the Pocahontas Community Center on May 31. It is open to intermediate and advanced categories, and it will be a round-robin style tournament. The fee is $35 per team. The Pocahontas School District Board honored the high school swim team at its recent meeting, recognizing the athletes for their accomplishments during the 2024-25 season.

Brent Whitely was recognized for his fourth place finish in both the 800m and the 1600m indoor track meet in Fayetteville at the most recent Pocahontas School Board meeting.
