Baltz Lake Youth Fishing Derby Day

The 1st Annual Pocahontas Baltz lake Youth Fishing Day will take place on April 23, 2022 from 7 a.m. - 2 p.m. All youth ages 15 and under are invited to enjoy a day of FREE fishing, food, and fun. The small south side of the lake will be stocked with catfish the week of the event. 15 and under from the bank can begin at 7 a.m. 15 boat limit-Registration will begin at 6 a.m. for Youth Bass Tournament for ages 9-15. 2 man teams along with a licensed boat captain. Live well required.

Pocahontas Public Schools Arkansas Public School Choice Application

In order to provide more options to parents and students with respect to where a child attends school, the Pocahontas School District is accepting students under the Arkansas Public School Choice Act. Per Arkansas Department of Education (ADE) guidelines, students must file a School Choice Application with the nonresident district on or before May 1, 2022 to attend school for the 2022-2023 school year. Applicants will be notified, by July 1, as th wheter the student’s application has been approved or rejected.
