On Friday, May 13, 2022, M.D. Williams fifth grade students graduated from the D.A.R.E. program. This program teaches students to resist drugs and violence. These students were instructed in a tenweek program by Officer Catherine Young, Officer Terry Tribble, and Detective Trason Johnson. Special guests at the graduation included Mayor Keith Sutton, Police Chief David Edington, and D.A.R.E board officer Isabella Jansen.
CONWAY, AR (05/17/2022)-- Local students were nominated to represent their community and school at Arkansas Boys State 2022, an immersive leadership and civic engagement experience sponsored by the American Legion.
The Dolphins Swim Team is gearing up for the summer swim session with the South Wind Swim Conference. The summer league schedule has been set. The meets will take place in Pocahontas, Jonesboro, Searcy and Mountain Home. There are multiple practice options available for returning and new team members.
The Dolphins Swim Team has partnered with the Pocahontas Aquatic Center to offer swim lessons this summer. The lessons will be taught by the assistant coaches from the swim team and senior team members.

This past weekend Maynard High School sent two teams to the Arkansas Youth BASS Nation State Championship[ held on Greer’s Ferry lake. Tuff Clark and Uriah Denny fought hard to advance but came up short on the second day. While Seniors, Nick Edington, and Jarred Jones had a great first day they continued to have success on the second day and were able to finish sixth overall with a total two-day weight of 18.16 pounds. For the third year in a row, the Maynard Bass Team will be sending a team to the Bassmaster’s National Tournament at Lake Hartwell in Anderson South Carolina later this summer.
