PJHS Redskins beat Highland 8-0
The Pocahontas Junior Redskins beat conference rival Highland Rebels in an exciting game on September 15 at Schoonover Stadium. The game was fiercely contested by both teams with neither having an advantage until Pocahontas final drive with 5:18 left in the game.

Fall Swim Team Begins
The Dolphins Swim Team is gearing up for the fall swim session. There are multiple practice options available for returning and new team members.
The Good Stuff
The Redskins begin conference play this week, welcoming the Rivercrest Colts to Schoonover Field. Pocahontas will be looking for their first win in this series since it was renewed in 2018. Rivercrest has outscored the ‘Skins by just under an average of three touchdowns per contest, with the closest Pocahontas loss a 21-14 overtime affair in 2019.

Pocahontas tops Brookland 47-28
In their fourth straight game against a 5A opponent, Pocahontas hosted 5A Brookland Bearcats at Schoonover Field on September 2. The game time temperature was 80 degrees with 66% humidity and was a perfect night for high school football. The Redskins led at half 34-8. The Bearcats outscored the Redskins 20 to 12 in the second half but could not overcome the first half deficit with Pocahontas winning 47-28.
The Good Stuff
Redskins are off this Friday, and with the start of conference play right around the corner I thought it might be a good time for a look at how the rest of the 3-4A conference is faring. The Rivercrest Colts are sitting at 1-2, with their only win an opening week 47-12 decision over 3-3A member Manila.
