The Pocahontas Redskins finished their regular season with an overwhelming 41-14 victory over their rival, the Highland Rebels, at Rebel Memorial Field in Highland on November 4. The Redskins started slowly leading 6-0 at the end of the first quarter.

The Junior Lady Hounds won their third game in a row by beating the Maynard Lady Tigers 34-31 in a Tuesday night game at Bill McCurley Gymnasium. The Lady Junior Hounds led 9-8 at end of the first quarter and 1915 at the end of the first half. Sloan-Hendrix lead 27-22 at the end of the third quarter and won the game 34-31.
Pocahontas clinched an outright 3-4A conference title this past Friday night, routing Highland by the count of 41-12. Redskin quarterback Connor Baker moved closer to Arkansas’ career record for rushing touchdowns, scoring two touchdowns while rushing for 135 yards on 23 carries, putting him one short of the state record set by former Clarendon star Cedrick Houston from 1997-2000.
The Heisman Trophy Trust announced the 2022 School Winners for the Heisman High School Scholarship competition awarded by the Heisman Trophy Trust. Harper Rorex and Carley Morgan were named school winners.

Pocahontas capitalized on three Blytheville fumbles in the first half and the Redskin defense held on downs twice inside the 10-yard line to allow Pocahontas to lead 20-8 at the end of the first half.
The Pocahontas Redskins held off the Blytheville Chickasaws this past Friday night, with Redskin quarterback Connor Baker racking up 389 rushing yards and five touchdowns on 41 carries in the victory. The Redskins travel to Highland this week for the regular season finale, with Baker just four rushing touchdowns shy of breaking the state record set by Clarendon’s Cedric Houston.
