Sloan-Hendrix School

This is the first article in a three-part series of the history of Sloan-Hendrix School in Imboden. Sloan-Hendrix in an important part of my life. There has been a member of the Weir, Stewart and Jones families enrolled in Sloan-Hendrix from the 1930s until today (may have skipped a year or two, but not many). My Father (Eugene) and mother (Willene) graduated in 1942. My aunts (Daphine and Louise Stewart, and Ruby Jones), Uncle (Justin Jones), cousins (Debi and Danny Rowsey), and nephew (Jeremy Jones) are all graduates. I graduated in 1963 and my brother Jim in 1966. My son Chris in 1990 and daughter Stephanie in 1993 are both graduates. My granddaughter, Lauren Jones, is a sophomore now. My wife Rebecca, and sister-in-law, Patsy Jones, both retired from teaching at Sloan-Hendrix for more than 30 years. My son (Chris) is member of the School Board and daughter-inlaw (Mikka Jones) is the school nurse. We have lived across the street from the Sloan-Hendrix Campus on Highway 115 since 1973.
