Greyhound Basketball

The Sloan-Hendrix Senior basketball teams finished a busy week of the regular season with makeup games postponed because of weather at Marshall and ICC and a regular season game at Corning. In a Saturday game played at Izard County Central the Senior Boys Greyhounds won the 2A-2 conference title with a 56-42 victory over the Cougars. The Greyhounds led 28-24 at the half and outscored the Cougars 28-18 the last half to win the game 56-42 to end their regular season. Ethan Lee led the Greyhounds in scoring with 17 points, followed by Braden Cox with 11 points, Ethan Pickett had 10 points, Cade Grisham had 7 points, Luke Murphy threw in 6 points, Karson Roark had 4 points and Hudson Rorex had 1 point. The Senior Boys traveled to Marshall to face the 21-5 Marshall Bobcats in a Friday night game and lost 67-57. The Greyhounds finished first in the conference and are seeded number one in the 2A-2 tournament. They will play in a semifinal game at White County Central in the 2A-2 District Tournament on Thursday of this week.

Redskins upset Forrest City

The Pocahontas Redskins Senior played one of their best games of the season while upsetting the Forrest City Mustangs at Forrest City in a Saturday afternoon 4A-3 conference game 75-70. The Redskins jumped out to a 19-10 lead in the first quarter and lead 4229 at the half.

Pocahontas Redskin Basketball

The Trumann Wildcats captured their second season win over the Pocahontas Redskins Senior Boys in a Thursday night conference game held at Wear Schoonover Fieldhouse 61-42. The Senior Redskins trailed 18-7 at end of the first quarter and at the half 32-18. Trumann continued the lead in the second half outscoring the Redskins 29-24 to win the game 61-42.

The Good Stuff
