Lady Redskins sweep Highland on senior night
The Pocahontas Lady Redskins celebrated Senior Night Tuesday, Oct. 15, with a three game sweep of the Highland Lady Rebels 25-15, 25-13 and 26-24.

Jr Redskins fall to Gosnell 28-14
Although improving week to week a young Pocahontas Jr Redskin team did not have an answer for the undefeated Gosnell Jr Pirates ground game falling to the Pirates 28-14 Thursday, Oct. 3, at Schoonover Stadium Pocahontas did start out on top after taking the opening kickoff and marching 70 yards in a 15 play well-balanced drive capped off by a two yard TD pass from quarterback Ace Brooks to wide receiver Ryder Starr.

The PHS Lady Sr Redskins went from feast to famine Thursday, Sept. 26, at Southside High School. Pocahontas took the first two sets 25-23 and 25-20 but the Southerners came back taking the next three sets 25-15, 2513 and 15-13 to win the match.
PHS Redskins Chester and Smith advance to the 4A State Tennis Tournament
Redskin Seniors Carli Chester and Brynn Smith qualified for the 4A State Tennis Tournament by placing second in 3-4A District tournament play Wednesday, Sept. 25, in Jonesboro.
Vacancy on Biggers Town Council to be filled by appointment
With the recent passing of Council Member Larry High, a vacancy has been created on the Biggers Town Council. The position will be filled by appointment at the upcoming council meeting, scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 15. The meeting will begin at 7:00 p.m.
