Pocahontas swimmers shine at Batesville Invite

The Pocahontas Redskins traveled to Batesville on Saturday, Nov. 16 for the Batesville November Invite. Isaiah Land swam state qualifying times in his two events. In the 200 IM (Individual Medley- consisting of fifty of each of the strokes, Butterfly, Backstroke, Breaststroke, and Freestyle) Isaiah came in third with a 2:21.87. In the 100 Freestyle he finished 2nds with a 53.62. Christian Lee broke the thirty second mark in the 50 Freestyle, swimming a 29.77 for eighth place. He also swam the 100 Butterfly, finishing tenth with a 1:34.61. In the 200 Freestyle Lauren Olson came in first with a 2:18.00, a state qualifying time, as well as a new school record. Abbigail Percifull also got a state qualifying time in the 200 IM with a 2:42.97, coming in second place. Chloe Fort came in ninth place in the 100 Backstroke with a 1:46.51. All three girls swam the 100 Freestyle, with Lauren Olson finishing second with a 1:03.23, Abbigail Percifull coming in right behind her in third with a 1:03.72, and Chloe Fort swimming a 1:31.99 for 17th place. The Redskins have a brief Thanksgiving break and then prepare for their next swim meet they are hosting at the Pocahontas Aquatic Center on Tuesday, Dec. 3.
