The Pocahontas Redskins hosted their December Invitational on Tuesday, Dec. 3. The area schools attending included Brookland, Hoxie, Greene County Tech, Jonesboro, Valley View, Walnut Ridge, and Westside. The Lady Redskins placed second among the womenâs teams and the Redskins placed third among the menâs teams.

The Riverside Lady Rebels proved they deserved the two seed in the WBU High School Tournament and revenged their upset loss to Pocahontas last year as they crushed the Lady Redskins 78-17 Wednesday, Dec. 4, at Williams Baptist University.
The Pocahontas Redskins Sr. Boys soundly defeated the Hoxie Mustangs 79-29 in first round action of the 65th Annual WBU High School Tournament at Williams Baptist University, Monday, Dec. 2.
The Pocahontas Redskins traveled to Batesville on Saturday, Nov. 16 for the Batesville November Invite. Isaiah Land swam state qualifying times in his two events. In the 200 IM (Individual Medley- consisting of fifty of each of the strokes, Butterfly, Backstroke, Breaststroke, and Freestyle) Isaiah came in third with a 2:21.87. In the 100 Freestyle he finished 2nds with a 53.62. Christian Lee broke the thirty second mark in the 50 Freestyle, swimming a 29.77 for eighth place. He also swam the 100 Butterfly, finishing tenth with a 1:34.61. In the 200 Freestyle Lauren Olson came in first with a 2:18.00, a state qualifying time, as well as a new school record. Abbigail Percifull also got a state qualifying time in the 200 IM with a 2:42.97, coming in second place. Chloe Fort came in ninth place in the 100 Backstroke with a 1:46.51. All three girls swam the 100 Freestyle, with Lauren Olson finishing second with a 1:03.23, Abbigail Percifull coming in right behind her in third with a 1:03.72, and Chloe Fort swimming a 1:31.99 for 17th place. The Redskins have a brief Thanksgiving break and then prepare for their next swim meet they are hosting at the Pocahontas Aquatic Center on Tuesday, Dec. 3.
Sydney Percifull hit three clutch free throws in the final 17 seconds to give the Jr Lady Redskins a come-frombehind 39-37 victory over the Sloan-Hendrix Jr Lady Greyhounds, Thursday, Nov. 21 at Pocahontas.
The Pocahontas Sr Lady Redskins evened their season record to 2-2 with an exciting 50-43 triumph over the Walnut Ridge Sr Lady Bobcats Monday, Nov. 25, at Terry Belcher Gymnasium at Walnut Ridge.
The Walnut Ridge Jr Lady Bobcats were no match for the pressure defense the Pocahontas Jr Lady Redskins had in store as Pocahontas dominated from start to finish to defeat Walnut Ridge 51-13 Monday, Nov. 25, at Terry Belcher Gymnasium in Walnut Ridge.
