Jr. Lady Redskins finish regular season 18-2

The Maynard Junior High Archery team qualified for the state tournament in Hot Springs on March 7. The team finished in the top 30 teams. Gage Harris shot over 280 to qualify for the singles division. He currently has a high score of 286/300 and is ranked fifth out of 732 in the sixth-ninth grade division.
Several members of the Maynard FBLA earned outstanding achievements at the District FBLA competition. After trailing once by as many as 15 points it was “Coffey Time” for the Pocahontas Redskins. With 2.1 seconds left to play, Senior DJ Coffey split two defenders after driving around a Jared Mitchell screen and put up a shot in the paint to give the Redskins a 71-70 victory Tuesday, Feb. 4 at Schoonover Fieldhouse in a contest that saw 21 threepoint baskets. Gosnell had beaten Pocahontas earlier in the year at Gosnell 69-68 in double overtime.
The Pocahontas Jr. Lady Redskins returned to their winning ways Thursday, Jan. 23, as they defeated the Highland Jr. Lady Rebels 4932 at Highland. The win improved the Lady Jr. Redskins to 16-2 on the year.

The Pocahontas Jr. Lady Redskins crushed the Gosnell Jr Lady Pirates 49-15 Monday, Feb. 3 at Schoonover Stadium to improve to 17-2.
Tid Kios turned a one point Redskin lead into a 10-point lead in just seconds with back-to-backto- back three pointers midway through the fourth quarter and the Pocahontas Sr Redskins claimed a 59-48 victory over the Highland Rebels Friday, Jan. 24 at Highland.
Pocahontas hosted the Pocahontas Redskins Invitational on Tuesday, Jan. 28 at the Pocahontas Aquatic Center. Other teams participating included Brookland, Greene County Tech, Hoxie, Jonesboro, Mountain Home, Valley View, and Westside. For the Redskins, Steven Thibeault swam the 200 Free, coming in fourth with a 4:07.34. He also swam the 100 Free, finishing sixth with a 1:44.99. Christian Lee came in third in the 200 Individual Medley with a 3:31.28 and in the 400 Free, he swam a 6:36.71 for second place.
