Here and There

An old fear has crept into the conversation worldwide in the past two months. It’s something we used to worry about a lot, but not so much in recent years. The fear I’m referring to is global thermonuclear war.

Mike and I have an ongoing war. A used fabric softener sheet war. We don’t speak of it. We just do it. While putting his socks together, I will stuff a couple inside. I’ll put them in his pants pockets. He will find them and put them in my pillow case, under the sheets on my side of the bed or in my shoes. We were up and all but singing as we got dressed and I applied my Anti Scare makeup for the day.
