Mary Alice Cray Stormes, 83, of Pocahontas, departed this life and entered into paradise, Thursday, May 25, 2023. She was born July 10, 1939 in Peach Orchard, Arkansas to the late Albert Lawrence Cray and Faye Imogean Holt Cray. Mary was a member of the Pyburn Street church of Christ since moving to Pocahontas in June 2012. She was a faithful and active Christian all her adult life and was constantly using her home and talent for the benefit of the church. She taught the 4’s and 5’s year old bible class (off and on) for 35 years. Also, during that time, she was heavily involved in a work to help procure “back to school” clothes for the needy kids at Southern Christian Home in Morrilton. With the help of Ina Brown and Helen Smith, in 2006 she started an art and painting instruction class for the church ladies plus other visitors which met once a week. This continued until 2012 when she moved to Pocahontas. She was constantly opening her home for visiting missionaries, and other guests.
