Greta Strong, 89, formerly of Pocahontas, died Sept 14, in Saginaw, Michigan. She was born and raised in Michigan and was married to William Strong. She retired as advertising manager from the Star Herald in 1994 and returned to Michigan.

On September 21, 2023, Lucian (Pooch) Baltz passed away at the age of 86 near Protem, Missouri at his home on Bull Shoals Lake. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Peggy, and six sons: Ronnie of Elizabeth, Colorado, Roger of Helena, Montana, Kenny of Felton, California, Kelly of Eagle River, Alaska, Jason of Nashville, Tennessee and Josh of Libby, Montana. Lucian is the 11th of 12 children born to Bartholomew (Bartha) and Rosie Baltz of Pocahontas, Arkansas. He has 11 siblings: sisters Catherine Barre, Helen Hunter (deceased), Alice Jansen and Francis Steimel (deceased); brothers James (deceased), Robert (deceased), Tom (deceased), Curtis (deceased), Finten (deceased) and Max. Lucian has seven grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
