ROBERT HENRY ”BOB” RAINWATER

Robert Henry “Bob” Rainwater, age 90, of Walnut Ridge passed away after a brief illness on September 28, 2025, at NEA Baptist Memorial Hospital in Jonesboro. Born on February 21, 1935, in Walnut Ridge, he was the son of Henry and Marguerite Cooper Rainwater. He graduated from Walnut Ridge High School in 1952, and that same year he attained the rank of Eagle Scout. He graduated from Arkansas State College in 1957 and was a past member of the Arkansas National Guard and Tennessee National Guard. He also graduated from the University of Tennessee School of Pharmacy in Memphis. Bob owned and operated Sexton Pharmacy in Walnut Ridge for many years. A member of the Arkansas Pharmacists Association, he was recognized for being a licensed pharmacist in Arkansas for 50 years. He was a member of First United Methodist Church, a member and past master of Aurora Lodge #423 and served on the board of directors of Pocahontas Federal Savings and Loan and First Community Bank for 24 years. In his free time, Bob especially enjoyed outdoor activities, such as hunting and fishing. In June of 1957, he was married to Patsy Wilcoxson. She preceded him in death in 2005. He is survived by their three children, Ross (Sherry) Rainwater and Renee (John) Bland of Walnut Ridge and Tom (Valerie) Rainwater of Jonesboro; five grandchildren, Stephanie (Todd) Rayburn of Greenbrier, Rob (Melody) Rainwater of Walnut Ridge, Jon David (Emily) Rainwater of Jonesboro, Anna Bland of Fayetteville and Sam (Sarah Kate) Rainwater of Fayetteville; four great-grandchildren, Ava Grace Rayburn, Reed Rainwater, Ellie Kay Rayburn, Wyatt Rainwater, and an expected fifth great-grandchild, Cooper Henry Rainwater; a brother, Mike Rainwater of Bella Vista; a sister, Peggy Smith of Hot Springs and numerous other relatives. His body will be cremated, with the family holding a private committal service at Lawrence Memorial Park. Please consider a donation in his memory to First United Methodist Church, P.O. JERRY LEE COLEMAN

Jerry Lee Coleman, 86, husband of the late Elizabeth “Betty” Jane DeClerk Coleman, died on Saturday, September 20, 2025 in Harrodsburg, Kentucky. Born January 12, 1939, in the Sharum Community of Randolph County, Arkansas, he was the son of the late Granville Carl and Nellie Augusta James Coleman. Jerry attended Pocahontas High School in Arkansas, and upon graduating in 1957, he joined the U.S. Army where he served in the 82nd Airborne. He continued to serve his country in the Reserves until the mid-eighties. Jerry graduated from Southwest Missouri State University in 1978. Afterwards he enjoyed a long career with the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Natural Resources Conservation Service. He worked in multiple positions and offices throughout Missouri and Kentucky, including serving as District Conservationist in Mercer County and Boyle County field offices from 1983 to 1997. He retired as Russell County District Conservationist in 2004 after 41 years of service with the USDA NRCS. Jerry was a member of St. Andrew’s Catholic Church, and a 4th Degree member and a past District Deputy in the Knights of Columbus. He was an avid gardener and loved being outdoors in nature. He also loved volunteering in the community, especially serving the less fortunate and children’s services. In his younger years, he served as a Scout Master for the Boy Scouts of America. Jerry and Betty both were active members of the Friends of Wolf Creek National Fish Hatchery in Jamestown, KY, with Jerry serving as President in the year 2007. He also served as a volunteer with the Russell County Rescue Squad. He was honored as a Kentucky Colonel. Jerry is survived by four sons, Michael Coleman of Harrodsburg, Daniel (Carol) Coleman of Marshfield, Missouri, Charles (Christine) Coleman of Cincinnati, Ohio, and David (Lisa) Coleman of Harrodsburg, and three daughters, Georgia (Stuart) Grooms of Kansas City, Missouri, Susan (Mark) Willmott of Harrodsburg, and Rose (Brian) Love of Dundonald, Scotland; twenty grandchildren, Kevin (Lorena) Grooms, Eric Grooms, Gabrielle (Ryan) Cobb, Gregory Coleman, Joshua (Savanna) Coleman, Rebecca (Michael) Hayes, Aaron and Hope Coleman, Mary, William, Anna, Catherine, Joseph, Caroline, and Georgia Coleman, Grant Willmott, Loren Willmott (Devin) Carpenter, Jacob (McKenzie) Coleman, Luke (Maggie) Coleman, and Eden Love; and five great-grandchildren, Sam and Alice Cobb, Charlotte Coleman, Arthur Hayes, and Ruby on the way! In addition to his parents and his wife, Jerry is preceded in death by a sister, Geraldine C. Naumann, her husband, Donald Naumann, and a brother, James. The Funeral Service will be a Catholic Mass held at St. Andrew Catholic Church at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 27, 2025 with Rev. Father Edwin Netlas officiating. ALBERT LOUIS BALTZ

Albert Louis Baltz, 82, of Pocahontas, Arkansas, passed away peacefully on September 22, 2025, at St. Bernard’s Medical Center in Jonesboro, surrounded by his loving family. Born on November 30, 1942, in Pocahontas to Dr. Matt and Mary Louise Baltz, Albert was the sixth of eight children. He grew up in a family rooted in faith, service, and community foundation that would guide his life’s work. On June 13, 1964, Albert married the love of his life, Rose Thielemier. Together, they built a family grounded in faith, love, and a commitment to serving others. Albert pursued a career in medicine, graduating from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in 1967. He served his country as a captain in the United States Air Force, stationed at Barksdale Air Force Base in Bossier City, LA, and later worked as a medical doctor at a civilian hospital in Phan Rang during the Vietnam War in 1969. He completed his military service at Jacksonville Air Force Base before returning home to join his father, Dr. Matt Baltz, as a Family Physician at Little Flower Hospital in Pocahontas. Albert later partnered with other physicians to establish the Pocahontas Medical Clinic. For more than four decades, he cared for generations of families, providing compassionate care to the young and old of his beloved community. Outside of medicine, Albert cherished time with his family, enjoyed hunting and fishing, and treasured trips to the cabin with “The Boys of Macedonia.” He was a man who valued relationships deeplywhether with his family, friends, or patients. Albert was a faithful member of St. Paul Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. He is survived by his devoted wife of 61 years, Rose; his children Lisa (Sam) Riggs, Susie (Rob) Roberts, David (Karla) Baltz, Julie (Joe) Muse, and Brian (Rachel) Baltz; his grandchildren Austin (Nichole) Riggs, Hannah Riggs, Emily (Jonathan) Hobbs, Krista (Dylan) Gray, Brad Roberts, Ryan (Paige) Roberts, Spencer Baltz, Logan Baltz, Brenna Baltz, Mason Baltz, Jackson (Jillian) Muse, Abi Muse, Gavin Muse, Addison Baltz, Peyton Ahrent, Molly Kate Baltz, and Hudson Baltz; and his great-grandchildren Hazel Riggs, Vyolette Riggs, Benson Muse, and a great-grandson on the way. He is also survived by his siblings Guy (Joan) Baltz, Rita Dust, Genie Harper, and Janet Holt. He was preceded in death by his parents, Matt and Mary Louise Baltz, and his sisters Mary Therese Davis, Madeleine Throesch, and Millie Kueter. Visitation will be held Thursday, September 25, from 57 p.m. at St. Paul Catholic Church with a Rosary to follow. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, September 26, at 10 a.m., also at St. Paul Catholic Church. Burial will follow at St. John Cemetery in Engelberg. Pallbearers are his nine grandsons. Honorary Pallbearers are Dr. Danny Holt, Dr. Andrew Jansen, Guy Baltz, Lloyd Lewallen, Chuck Couch, Kelly Rose, Kris Rose, Kevin Rose, Mike Thielemier, and Pat Thielemier. Dr. Albert will be remembered for his unwavering faith, dedication to his patients, and deep love for his family and community. His legacy of service and compassion will live on in the lives of all who knew him.
