Clayton Murray, a Pocahontas band student, recently qualified for All State after competing against students from all over the state in percussion and qualified for All State Concert Band. Murray traveled to Maumelle to perform a concert with other All State qualifiers.

Black River Technical College (BRTC) is preparing its students for these changes by using ToolingU-SME to give them a head start in the industry.

Several Pocahontas Redskin art students walked away with awards at the Visual and Performing Arts Festival on Feb. 16. Akira Harris, Olivia Toney and Lexi Kidd delivered stellar solo performances, showcasing their passion for the arts. Ellie Eddington won the Show Stopper Award for hand textures, while Addison Shipley brought home the Best of Show Award for texture still life. The other artists that participated were Claudia Russ, Lexi Tweedy, Cambree Russ, Addyson Forrester, Lilly Burgess and Amelia McKenzie.

A Pocahontas man pleaded guilty to misdemeanor harassment in a 2012 sexual assault case and received a suspended sentence, according to court records.
Members of the Pocahontas FBLA earned honors at the FBLA District II Spring Conference and will compete at the state level.
