Powhatan Historic State Park to host October activities

Powhatan Historic State Park will host its “Ghost Walk” programs Saturday October 18. Programs begin at 6 p.m. and run every 20 min until 8:40 p.m. Participants will visit historic buildings, hearing the many ghost stories, folk tales and legends about the park in its 200-year history. Admission is $5 per adult and $3 for children 6 - 12 and free for 5 and under. No registration required. Grab some kettle corn and join a tour when you can.

Flu vaccine clinic to be hosted by Pocahontas School District

The Pocahontas School District will be hosting a flu vaccine clinic along with the Randolph County Health Department on October 15 and October 16. The health department will be on campus to administer flu vaccines to students and staff. Consent forms will be sent home with students. If you would like your child to receive the vaccine, please complete the consent form and return to your child’s school nurse by October 10. Please call your child’s school nurse with any questions at 870-892-4573.
