Arkansas Pie Festival returns April 27

Grab your forks! The Arkansas Pie Festival is set to return to Cherokee Village on Saturday, April 27 as a partner of the World Food Championship, the biggest Food Sport event in the world. As an official qualifying event for WFC, the Arkansas Pie Festival will award one Golden Ticket to its champion making them eligible to compete in the Dessert category at the international cooking tournament this fall.

Like I said, I always choose to have Mom make me a dinner of chicken and dumplings with all the sides, and her Red Velvet cake. There is just something about a homemade cake that makes it more personal. The time and effort to put all the ingredients together show the love and care that person has for you. If you were to ask my dad and kids, her chocolate cake is their favorite. My dad gets giddy at the fact that Mom will make him a chocolate cake for his birthday, and he gladly eats the piece right out of the middle with a big glass of cold milk.

Skydivers soar above Randolph County during eclipse

As the moon cast its shadow over Randolph County on Monday, April 8, residents and visitors were not only treated to the show of a total eclipse but also to a thrilling display of bravery and skill in the skies above. While spectators across the region admired the eclipse, a team of skydivers from West Tennessee Skydiving took to the air above the Pocahontas Airport for an astonishing feat. Led by experienced skydiver Alex Coker, the team boarded a mission to set records on both the state and national levels.
