May 24 will be the kickoff to the water park season at the Pocahontas Aquatic Center. Bring just 3 canned goods and get into the water park at no cost. All donations will be going to West Ridge Food Pantry. Come kick off summer with a fun day at the water park and donate to a great cause.
FEMA announced that federal disaster assistance is available to the state of Arkansas to supplement recovery efforts in the areas affected by severe storms and tornadoes from March 14–15, 2025.

The Pocahontas School District will conclude the 2024-2025 school year on Friday, May 23. There will be no early dismissal. The faculty and staff, administration and school board wish everyone an enjoyable summer vacation.
Keith Sutton Five Rivers Shooting Range is offering a Practical Competition Shooting League Course (PCSL). This course will be offered in two courses a basic fundamentals and a skills & drills course. Adults for each course are $50 or $75 for both. Youth 12+ is $20 per course or $30 for both. Saturday, June 14 will be youth course. Saturday, June 7 will be the adult courses. All Shooting Range Members will get half off these courses.
More than 610 of the state’s brightest young men, representing 207 high schools throughout the state, will attend Arkansas Boys State, an immersive leadership and civic engagement experience sponsored by the American Legion. This summer’s 84th annual session runs May 25 through May 30 at the University of Central Arkansas in Conway.
