As President Trump helps storm-impacted Arkansas families, the State steps up for damaged communities

Following President Trump’s Major Disaster Declaration in response to Arkansas’ March 14-15 storms and tornadoes and his announcement that he would provide Individual Assistance to Arkansans impacted by these storms, Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders today announced that the State will provide Public Assistance to storm-impacted county and local governments.

Powhatan Historic State Park to host June Workshops

Powhatan Historic State Park will host a Victorian Watercolor Painting Workshop on Saturday, June 7, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Join park staff to learn how American Victorians used watercolor painting to brighten up their homes. Participants will learn the basics of watercolor painting and leave with their own artwork. The registration fee covers the cost of materials. Please wear work clothes and bring a sack lunch. Space is limited and reservations are required. There is a $15 registration fee.

Junior Auxiliary of Randolph County’s equipment donation event coming soon

The Junior Auxiliary of Randolph County is sponsoring a baseball and softball equipment donation event. The event will be located at the Pocahontas Sports Complex. Donations will be taken for the Spring/ Summer 2026 season. The items needed are gloves, bats, cleats and bags. More details on the date are coming soon. With the support of the community and giving back to the children of Randolph County, it helps provide sporting equipment to the next generation of athletes in our community.
