POCAHONTAS, AR Jan. 14– Black River Technical College is pleased to announce the students who have been named to the President’s List. To be eligible for the President’s List, a student must be enrolled in at least 12 college credit hours excluding developmental courses, not be on any type of probation, and must have a minimum grade point average of 4.0.

The Eddie Mae Herron Center sponsored their yearly Martin Luther King, Jr Walk on Monday, January 17. After meeting and walking to the center from the Randolph County Courthouse, members of the center prepared a special MLK program for everyone to enjoy.
Randolph County Right to Life will hold their annual March for Life on Saturday, January 29 at 10am. The march will begin at Riverside Park and will end at the flagpole at Riverfront Park. Please join us.
There will be a meeting for those interested in helping with the 150th Birthday Celebration for the Old Randolph County Courthouse on Thursday, January 20 at 6pm at the Star Herald office. This will just be an idea gathering meeting.

The Pocahontas Public School Board met on January 6 at the Pocahontas Junior High Campus for a special board meeting. Lesa Grooms provided the members of the board with an update on current Covid numbers.
