Coummunity Lunch at EMHC

COME ONE COME ALL! TO THE Eddie Mae Herron Center Saturday, Feb. 19th. at 1 pm for our Community Lunch. This is our annual Hog demonstration lunching. Winter Storm Part II: Ice Ice Baby

Icy roads and snow-covered yards were the norm last week when Mother Nature blew in some wintry weather. Pocahontas Schools and many businesses closed their doors on Thursday and Friday due to the road conditions. Amazingly, according to the Pocahontas Police Department, no accidents were reported during the storm.

“I Do” on Valentine’s Day

February 14 may be just Valentine’s Day to some people, but to Kevin and Carrie Barnes of Pocahontas, it is the day their lives changed forever by two simple words; I do. “We met in 2013 at his old sign shop,” said Carrie, “I was having some things done to my son’s truck.” Kevin recalls the day quite well and laughs when he says the two didn’t really click when they first met.
