City Council meeting at 5:30 p.m. at City Hall.

Sadler Jackson of Pocahontas from Pocahontas High School was elected as City Council Position 3 for Bush City at Arkansas Boys State 2025, a summer leadership and civic engagement experience sponsored by the American Legion.

Dar Burger of Pocahontas from Pocahontas High School was elected as Justice of the Peace 5 for Rooks County at Arkansas Boys State 2025, a summer leadership and civic engagement experience sponsored by the American Legion.

The Kiwanis Club of Pocahontas is holding a book drive to collect books to share with children. They will be collecting books till August 29 for the age range of 0-11. Books may be brought from home, purchased from yard sales or flea markets and taken to any drop off location. Locations are Dr. Ungerank Chiropractic, First National Bank of commerce, Radiance Tanning or Farmers & Merchants Bank. The goal of the drive is to encourage literacy by providing new or gently used children’s books to childcare facilities in Pocahontas.

The Community Advisory Panel (CAP) will meet on Wednesday, June 10 at 11 a.m. The meeting will be held at the ProMed Ambulance classroom located at 2680 Thomasville Road in Pocahontas. Lunch will be served.
