Junior Auxiliary of Randolph County launches equipment donation event

The Junior Auxiliary of Randolph County has kicked off its equipment donation event, set to end on June 13. The initiative is aimed at collecting gently used athletic gear to support local youth athletes for the upcoming season. Members of the organization will be stationed at the gates during Thursday’s game from 6:45 p.m. to approximately 7:15-7:30 p.m. to receive donations. Additional drop-off opportunities will also be available following the game.

Kiwanis of Pocahontas collecting books for children

The Kiwanis Club of Pocahontas is holding a book drive to collect books to share with children. They will be collecting books till August 29 for the age range of 0-11. Books may be brought from home, purchased from yard sales or flea markets and taken to any drop off location. Locations are Dr. Ungerank Chiropractic, First National Bank of commerce, Radiance Tanning or Farmers & Merchants Bank. The goal of the drive is to encourage literacy by providing new or gently used children’s books to childcare facilities in Pocahontas.
