UA Little Rock announces Spring 2025 Dean’s List
The University of Arkansas at Little Rock announces students who have made the Dean’s List for the Spring 2025 semester, recognizing nearly 1,500 students whose academic performances have been superior at the end of each semester.
Kiwanis of Pocahontas collecting books for children
The Kiwanis Club of Pocahontas is holding a book drive to collect books to share with children. They will be collecting books till August 29 for the age range of 0-11. Books may be brought from home, purchased from yard sales or flea markets and taken to any drop off location. Locations are Dr. Ungerank Chiropractic, First National Bank of commerce, Radiance Tanning or Farmers & Merchants Bank. The goal of the drive is to encourage literacy by providing new or gently used children’s books to childcare facilities in Pocahontas.
Frazier announced as a May 2025 UCA graduate
The University of Central Arkansas held fall commencement on Thursday, May 1, and Friday, May 2, 2025, in the Farris Center on campus. Degrees and certificates were conferred from the College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences; College of Business; College of Education; College of Health and Behavioral Sciences; College of Natural Sciences and Mathematics; and Graduate School.

Studio 67 Theater Company announces dates for drama camps
Studio 67 Theater Company located at 214 W. Everett in Pocahontas will host drama camps this summer for kids ages 8-17. The three camps include Hamilton, June 16 to 19; Wicked, July 7 to 10 and Rebels, July 14 to 17. Registration is $75 per class or you may register for all 3 classes for $175. To register call 870-378-7507. All camps are from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., and the kids will need to bring a sack lunch.
