The Five Rivers Shooting Sports Complex held the first registered ATA shoot on May 20, with 50 participates. The shooters and spectators enjoyed the perfect weather for the inaugural event. As with most ATA shoots the first event was 100 singles with Hannah Sullivan claiming the top prize with the lone 99. The winners for each Class were Ayden Pollock-Class B, Jason Murray-Class C, Tim Pollock-Class D. The category winners were Sherry Wondel capturing Lady, Jayden Dalton taking Junior, Isaac Hensley Sub-Junior, Keith Barnes Sub-Veteran, David Johnson Veteran, and Richard Thielemier taking Senior Veteran.

The monthly City of Pocahontas City Council meeting took place last Tuesday evening with various topics and updates discussed. During the public comments section, Pocahontas resident Harvey Key shared his concerns regarding a property issue raised by the city.

It sure is great to be back on the job! As some of you know, I was under the weather and spent a few days in the hospital being poked and probed and awakened all hours of the night. You know the drill! But I am almost back to 100% and ready to think about things good to eat! The gifted Odyssey of the Mind teams from Pocahontas Schools showcased their exceptional problem-solving skills at the OM World Finals, held on the campus of Michigan State University. The event, which took place during the last week of May, drew over 800 teams from the United States and around the globe.

The eagerly anticipated Annual Great Eleven Point River Float, hosted by the Randolph County Chamber of Commerce, and sponsored by Perry Properties, LLC, is set to take place on Saturday, July 1. Participants will have the freedom to navigate the river at their preferred pace, ensuring a relaxed and enjoyable experience.
