Brenna Baltz of Pocahontas recently graduated from the Fulbright College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Arkansas with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. Baltz joined more than 900 additional undergraduate Fulbright College students who graduated in spring 2023 and whose academic achievement was celebrated during the commencement ceremonies on Friday, May 12, in Bud Walton Arena.

This event, organized by the downtown events committee and supported by the Randolph County Chamber of Commerce, aims to bring the community together to enjoy all the area has to offer. Cally Shore, the director of the Randolph County Chamber of Commerce and head of downtown events, expressed her enthusiasm for the upcoming festival. “The events committee for the downtown area has been working on this event for a while, and we are so excited that it is finally here,” she said.

Randolph County authorities have apprehended a man in connection with the sexual assault of a teenager that occurred several years ago. The suspect, identified as Jamie Flanery, was taken into custody following an investigation by the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office.
