The Pocahontas Rotary Club extends its heartfelt gratitude to all the donors who generously contributed to the highly successful 2023 Red Letter Raffle. The donations from these esteemed businesses and individuals allowed us to award over $10,000 in prizes. The funds raised through this fundraising event will be utilized to provide scholarships to graduating seniors pursuing higher education.

Powhatan Historic State Park, located at 4414 Hwy. 25 in Powhatan, will be hosting a summer workshop on canning in July. The workshop, which requires registration and a fee, is set to take place at the park and offers participants an opportunity to learn the art of preserving food through canning.
The Randolph County Library’s summer Storytime program has witnessed a remarkable turnout, prompting a generous donation by Bob and Kerri Adams. The couple has graciously offered the use of Adams Hall Event Center, formerly known as the Rendezvous, located in downtown Pocahontas, for the duration of June and July.
The highly anticipated Annual Great Eleven Point River Float, hosted by the Randolph County Chamber of Commerce and sponsored by Perry Properties, LLC, is set to take place on Saturday, July 1. “Our goal is to see how many people we can get for a float on our county’s finest floating river,” stated a spokesperson for the event.
