Regional tax auction results

The recent auction of tax-delinquent properties in Clay, Green, Lawrence and Randolph Counties raised over $281 thousand; the Commissioner of State Lands announced. The regional auction drew 78 registered bidders, who purchased 72 of 86 parcels for $281,154.57.

A new era in Pocahontas arts: Marr Street Playhouse is ready for the spotlight

Exciting changes are on the horizon for theater supporters in Pocahontas as Marr Street Productions steps into the spotlight by taking over the Downtown Playhouse. This transition comes as the nonprofit organization that has been managing the Playhouse, Downtown Playhouse & Second Act Productions Acting Company, has decided to pass the torch, donating the theater building and all its assets to the next generation of performers in the area. As of August 28, 2023, Downtown Playhouse has officially transferred its operations to Marr Street Productions, which will now be known as Marr Street Playhouse.
