Redskins’ Coach Casey Chester reflects on non-conference challenges and conference prospects

With a break between the non-conference and conference portion of the Pocahontas Redskins’ schedule, it gave us some time to catch up with the ‘Skins’ first-year Head Coach Casey Chester. In the interview, Coach Chester discusses the tough non-conference schedule, how it has prepared his team for the rest of the season, and which younger players he has seen step up in the face of early-season injuries. He also shares his opinion on other teams aside from the Redskins that may contend for the conference title.

City to enforce noise ordinance

In a recent city council meeting, residents from the Baltz Lake area, raised their concerns about a growing nuisance – the incessant barking of dogs. The issue brought forth a heated discussion at the meeting, prompting Mayor Keith Sutton and the council to discuss the enforcement of the city’s noise ordinance, especially concerning animals.

Goin’ Postal?

A mailbox, visibly mangled after being struck by a vehicle, is pictured here. Local authorities, including Randolph County Sheriff Kevin Bell, are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the culprits behind a recent spate of mailbox destructions in the area. The incident, which occurred early last week, resulted in damage to approximately 30-40 mailboxes along Blacks Ferry Road, Clear Springs and Highway 90.
