Fall is here! That means the trees will soon be changing their leaves to all the beautiful colors. I love this time of year. The days will be lovely with all the colors surrounding usas the trees shed their leaves. The only bad thing about that is somebody has to start raking!! Of course one other thing I like about fall is that all of my favorite holidays are just around the corner. The fun of planning all the great foods you will be making. It’s good to have casseroles made ahead and in the freezer for company. Start shopping for supplies that you can buy ahead and have ready. I’m sharing some chicken dishes I”m sure your family will enjoy anytime of the year.

RiverBank recently completed its latest project, “Back 2 School: Bless A Teacher” which brought recognition to several teachers in the Randolph and Clay County areas. Randolph County Native Willie McCarroll turned 100 on Wednesday. Her family and friends threw a party to commemorate the milestone Saturday at The Eddie Mae Herron Center.

Boaters and outdoor lovers in Pocahontas are facing an unexpected setback as the City of Pocahontas announced the temporary closure of Baltz Lake. The closure, which is expected to last up to two years, comes as city officials initiate critical maintenance work on the lake’s levee, aimed at ensuring its long-term structural integrity and safety.

A summer trip turned out to be much more enlightening than ASU’s pre-veterinary medicine student Jared Baltz of Pocahontas anticipated. Baltz spent two weeks in Europe, getting a firsthand orientation to working in veterinary medicine while participating in the Doctors in Italy Fellowship Program.
