Randolph Co Treasurer removed from church roles

Randolph County Treasurer Dennis Calaway, who held pivotal roles at the Black Rock and Lynn United Methodist Church (UMC) locations for the past five years, has recently been instructed to vacate the Black Rock parsonage, where he had a residence, and was relieved of his duties as a Lay Supply Pastor, a position he held for the same duration. He was discontinued as a Local Pastor at the Spring Meeting of the District Board of Ordained Ministry in 2023, continuing as a Lay Supply until recently.

BRTC’s Annual Fall Festival Huge Success

Black River Technical College’s 4th Annual Bucks and Ducks Fall Festival was a huge success, with more than 450 students, staff, and faculty in attendance. Two hundred and seven high school students from Corning, Walnut Ridge, Hoxie, Pocahontas, Maynard, Rector, Marmaduke, and Paragould also attended a preview day held simultaneously, allowing them to get the whole BRTC experience! Attendees were treated to BBQ, games, and treats.

Risley awarded OSU scholarship

On Sept. 6, Tripp Risley was honored by the Oklahoma State University Ferguson College of Agriculture and received academic scholarships for the 2023-2024 academic year. These scholarships are part of the more than $1.8 million that students receive from the Ferguson College and its academic departments. Students from all areas of study are considered for university scholarships, which can be combined with college and departmental opportunities.

Baiza awarded $5,000 welding scholarship

Tractor Supply Company (NASDAQ: TSCO), the largest rural lifestyle retailer in the United States, announced today the 146 recipients of the inaugural FFA Future Leaders Scholarship by Tractor Supply. In partnership with the National FFA Organization, The Tractor Supply Foundation established the scholarship in 2022 with a $5 million commitment over the next five years, making it the largest agriculture scholarship fund of its kind.
