On Wednesday, Feb. 14, the Randolph County Library partnered with the American Red Cross to host a Valentine’s Day blood drive in honor of American Heart Month. We were thrilled to see 26 people generously donating, surpassing our set goal with flying colors! The overwhelming support caused the blood drive to operate for over an hour past the scheduled closing time. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all who attended and gave so graciously. You are truly lifesavers! The Randolph County Library looks forward to exceeding even more goals in the future

Experiencing a total solar eclipse can be a oncein- a-lifetime event. On Apr. 8, when the path of a total eclipse will touch 53 of Arkansas’ 75 counties, numerous instate organizations are gearing up to capitalize on this opportunity for tourism, marketing, and education.

With Pocahontas and Randolph County positioned in the path of totality for the Apr. 8 eclipse, one certainty emerges: People will come. Grabbing this momentous occasion by the reigns involves not only capitalizing on potential revenue streams such as merchandise sales and parking spots but also strategizing to maximize the community’s engagement and educational outreach.

Early voting for the March 5 election will commence on Feb. 20 at the First Baptist Church on Thomasville and will continue through March 4. Voting times are Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
