State Auditor sends check to BRTC

Black River Technical College (BRTC) recently received a check for nearly $1,500 from Auditor of State Dennis Milligan for unclaimed property the college had in the Great Arkansas Treasure Hunt. Unclaimed property can be any number of financial items, such as insurance premium overpayments, unreimbursed utility deposits, uncashed checks, contents of safety deposit boxes, etc.

MFA Oil Foundation awards grant to Randolph County Fair

The MFA Oil Foundation has awarded a grant to the Randolph County Fair to assist with purchasing plastic, fold-up picnic tables. The MFA Oil Foundation provides support to nonprofit organizations that are working to improve communities where MFA Oil has a significant concentration of members and employees. Since it was established in 1998, the MFA Oil Foundation has awarded more than three million dollars in grants.

CASA’s Champions for Kids Gala exceeds expectations

Last Tuesday, Nov. 7, Gateway CASA Third Judicial hosted its first annual “Champions for Kids” Gala at the James Ranch Event Center, drawing close to 150 attendees, including state representatives, judges and court officials from Randolph, Lawrence, Jackson and Sharp counties. The gala, chaired by Rachel Koons, served not only as a fundraiser but also as a platform to honor and recognize the dedication of volunteer advocates supporting neglected and abused children in the court system.
