Carilyn Haynes Smith, age 86, passed away Saturday, February 11, 2023. Carilyn was born on September 24, 1936 in Pocahontas, AR to the late Carl and Opal (Brown) Haynes. She is also preceded in death by her twin sister, Marilyn Mann.

She is survived by a son, Deron Wayne Smith of Seneca; a daughter, Laura Smith Wiles (Adam) of Greenville; a sister, Barbara Gschwend of Jonesboro, AR; and two grandchildren, Calla and Ellis Wiles.

Carilyn graduated from Pocahontas High School, where she was a member of the basketball team. After high school, she attended nursing school in Memphis, TN. She worked at Wren Middle School for almost 10 years and later at Southern Oaks Golf Course for about 20 years, where she made many friends and was well loved.

Carilyn enjoyed gardening and singing in the church choir at Mountain Springs Baptist Church. She was also athletic and enjoyed playing basketball and softball.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
