Billy Ray James, 83, of Walnut Ridge, Arkansas passed away on Wednesday, January 24, 2024, at Five Rivers Medical Center. Billy Ray was born on December 4, 1940, in Fender, Arkansas to Joe W. and Ruth Caffrey James.

Billy Ray is preceded in death by his parents; son Jon David James; and sisters Joann Caldwell and Patsy Graham.

Billy Ray is survived by his wife Edwina of the home; daughter Donna (Artie Shinn) James of North Little Rock; grandchildren Chloe (Hayden Andrews) James of Walnut Ridge, Cameron James of Little Rock, and Ashley Garrison of Pocahontas; brother Joe David (Cindy) James of Milan, Tennessee.

All services will be held in the chapel of Hope Gardens Funeral Home. A visitation will be held on Friday, January 26, 2024, from 10:00 am – 11:00 am with the funeral service to immediately follow with Gerald Fears officiating. Billy Ray will be laid to rest at Randolph Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers are Jeff Caffrey, Justin McCuiston, Bob Lynch, Danny Ward, Mike James, and Shane Wells.

Honorary pallbearers are Mike Ellis, Blake Bennett, Kent Bennett, Rob Roberts, Kevin Foster, Joey Lemmons, Glen Hausman, Doug Cox, Larry Caffrey, Mike Caldwell, and Ricky Caldwell.
