Betty Troxel

Betty Sue Troxel, 94, of Jonesboro, entered her heavenly home on December 21, 2023, surrounded by her family. Betty was born on March 31, 1929, in Reyno, Arkansas. She was the youngest daughter of Earl and Rose Lea Jackson. Betty was a lifetime member of the Reyno First Baptist Church in Reyno, Arkansas. Betty was a graduate of Southern Baptist College and Arkansas State University, with a master’s degree in education. Betty was an elementary and reading teacher for over 40 years and retired from the Biggers-Reyno School system. She spent the majority of her teaching career with the Corning School System at Park Elementary, and with the Reyno Elementary School.
Betty was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, Vincent Troxel, who passed in 1998. Betty was also preceded in death by her sisters, Nita Belle Pulliam of Festus, Missouri and Mary Lea Bench of Morocco, Indiana.
She is survived by her sons, Jon Troxel (Mary Ann) of Jonesboro and Roger Troxel (Sandie) of Jonesboro; her niece-daughter Victoria Ahlen (Larry) of Festus, Missouri. She is also survived by a granddaughter, Chloe Troxel of Oxford, MS., as well as a grandson and great granddaughter. Several nieces and nephews also survive her.
A graveside service will be held at Johnston Cemetery in Reyno, Arkansas on Saturday, December 23, at 11 a.m. with Roger Hovis officiating, and music by Kay Dawn Vaughn. Burial will follow at Johnston Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be donated to the Reyno First Baptist Church or Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro.
