Barbara Pitcher

Barbara Ellen Pitcher, 83, passed away March 31, 2023, at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice house.

She was born November 8, 1939, to the late John and Lena (Allen) Phillips. Barbara married her late husband, James Cleveland Pitcher on July 18, 1958. They lived in Delaplaine, AR. where they farmed up until James’ death in 2001. She then retired to Pocahontas, AR. and was a devoted member of Sutton Free Will Baptist Church. Barbara moved to Jonesboro, AR. in 2022 to live with her daughter, Karen.

She is survived by her three children, Diane (Bill) Jones, Michael Pitcher, and Karen (Tony) Pearson; 6 grandchildren, Jason (Melissa) Pitcher, Ashley (Burley) Shepard, Derek Pitcher, Jamē Pitcher, Sara (Cody) Harris, and Casey Cox; and 14 great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held Monday, April 3, 2023, from 12:00 P.M. – 2:00 P.M. at Sutton Free Will Baptist Church in Pocahontas, AR. A funeral service will begin at 2:00 P.M. with Brother Kevin Barnett officiating. A private burial will follow in Jones’ Ridge Cemetery in Delaplaine, Ar.

Honored to serve as pallbearers will be Jason Pitcher, Derek Pitcher, Jamē Pitcher, Casey Cox, Burley Shepard, and Cody Harris.

Honored to serve as an honorary pallbearer will be Nathan Compton.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association or Arkansas Children’s Hospital.

All services are under the direction of McNabb Funeral Home.
